Provincetown Through Time is a comparison view through the times of one of the most interesting "towns" in America. Provincetown's rich history from the Pilgrims to the Portuguese- through the artists to the tourists-has a unique influence on all who come here-a quaint picket-fenced New England seaside village that happened to have the gayest zip code of same sex couples in the country. Its timeline starts with the landing of the Mayflower and subsequent signing of the Mayflower Compact in 1620, and manages to be pivotal in five different centuries. It is the birthplace of American theater as the Provincetown Players premiere plays by Eugene O'Neill and Tennessee Williams.

And with the afternoon sky ablaze with color, it beckoned the growth of an artist community like no other. P'town accounts for one of the highest number of Pulitzer Prizes from plays to poetry and literature. The Provincetown Film Festival kicks off the summer season every year, and grows with the annual blessing of Portuguese fishing fleet. It seems to hit its stride by the fourth of July, "Bear Week "and "Carnival"-P'town's take on Mardi Gras- with its "fabulous" parade- and winds up with the annual "over the top" Halloween Beaux Arts Costume Ball.
